Question

How do I register multiple devices in Duo?

Answer

If you register multiple devices in Duo you will have a backup method of authenticating when your primary method is not available.

The devices you set as your "Default Device" will receive the Duo prompt. You will not receive Duo prompts from every device each time you authenticate.

To enroll a secondary device:

  1. Go to computingaccounts.ucdavis.edu
  2. Select Duo Multifactor Device Manager
  3. Authenticate with Duo
  4. Select Add a device.

  1. Now, follow the steps in one of the following articles to add a secondary device:
    1. Smartphone - Part 1, Step 3
    2. Security Key
