Question

I received my email from Amazon confirming my account is activated and put under the UC contract. What's next?

Overview

Once your account is activated and put under the Amazon Web Services (AWS) UC contract, you'll receive an email confirmation from Amazon. Once you receive that email, you'll need to activate one of the services in order to start using all services on AWS. If you haven't signed up for AWS, check out the Service Catalog and this Knowledge Base article.

Answer

  1. Login via the Management Console.
  2. You’ll be taken to the services screen. Select EC2, then click "Sign Up". This will activate all AWS services via Unified Sign Up.

Note: If the invoicing isn't set up, you will be taken back to the screen asking for payment information. If you've elected to pay for AWS services using a Purchase Order, please DO NOT enter payment information. Once the payment method has been setup you should immediately be able to proceed so wait for our confirmation.

  3. After Signing up for services, the system will ask you to select an AWS Support Plan. Consultation support is already provided via the UC contract and by contacting the IET Cloud Services team. Additional technical support is available for a monthly fee.
  4. You’ll be taken to the confirmation page. Once everything activates (normally instantly but can take up to 24 hours), you will be able to use the platform.

If you haven't signed up for AWS services:

Fill out the AWS Signup form to start the signup process. Instructions are provided on the form, as well as in this Knowledge Base article.
