How do I set up a Mac to print to an LPR printer?

Overview

This document covers printing to an LPR printing spool within the Computer Science department at UC Davis. The example printing spool can be changed from lw5duplex to other printers used in the CS department, or any system that uses LPR printing.

Answer

1. Open System Preferences, choose Print and Scan.
2. Press the plus key (+) to add a new printer.
3. Enter the following settings:
