How do I connect to the eduroam wireless network from a Chromebook?
Answer
Add the Eduroam wireless network manually:
- On the bottom right corner of your screen, click on the network icon (Wi-Fi symbol)
- From the list of available networks, select "eduroam".
- Enter the settings for eduroam:
- EAP method: PEAP
- EAP Phase 2 authentication: Automatic
- Server CA certificate: Default
- Subject match: (leave blank)
- Subject alternative name match: (leave blank)
- Domain suffix match: ucdavis.edu
- Identity:
- yourkerberosid@ucdavis.edu (CORRECT)
- youremail@ucdavis.edu (INCORRECT)
- Password: Kerberos Passphrase
- Anonymous identity: (leave blank)
- Check the Save identity and password option.
- Click Connect.
Add the Eduroam wireless network using Eduroam CAT:
- Visit https://cat.eduroam.org/?idp=831 from your device's web browser.
- Click the button that says "Click here to download your eduroam installer". It should detect your computer's Chrome OS.
- After downloading the file, open Chrome and navigate to "chrome://net-internals/#chromeos" (no quotes).
- Click the "Import ONC file" button. If prompted to select a file, choose the one that you just downloaded a moment ago.
- Go to the wireless network list on your device and select Eduroam. You should now be connected.
