Question

How do I remove a saved wireless network from my iOS device (iPhone, iPad, iPod)?

Overview

When you connect to a wireless network, the network’s security information, settings, and credentials are, by default, automatically stored on your system in the form of a wireless network profile. This profile allows the system to connect automatically the next time this wireless network is in range. If you have a wireless network profile on your device but are experiencing issues with the network, removing the wireless network profile and reconnecting to the network can correct simple issues that may be causing the problem.

Answer

Note: IT Express does not currently provide support for iOS-based devices; this information is provided as a courtesy to users. Additional support for iOS can be found at https://support.apple.com/.

  1. From the iOS Settings app, tap Wi-Fi and turn on Wi-Fi if it is not already.
  2. Click the blue information icon to the right of the wireless network you want to remove.

3. Click Forget This Network at the top.

    • If you see "Join Network" instead of "Forget This Network", it means the network is not saved on your device
  1.  4. Click Forget on the confirmation dialog.
