What are the available wireless networks on campus? 

Overview

• Students, staff, faculty, and other active affiliates use the Eduroam wireless network. If your device is configured for both Eduroam and the Guest wireless network, remove the UCD Guest network to prevent connectivity and performance issues.
• Guests use the Guest Wireless Network. 
• Both wireless networks are available in the dorms. However, some features you are accustomed to on a home network are not available on the university's wireless network. See Connectivity information for students living in the dorms for more information. 
• NOTE: Not all departments have provided in Wireless access in their buildings. Some locations have only hallway access points which do not cover all offices or rooms not fully accessible to the public. If additional wireless network coverage is needed in your building, please work with your departmental IT team.

Eduroam

eduroam (education roaming) is a secure, worldwide Wi-Fi network service developed for the international research and education community. It allows students, researchers, and staff to get free, seamless internet access at thousands of participating universities, research centers, schools, and libraries globally just by logging in with their home institution's credentials.

UCD-Guest

UC Davis provides a wireless network for guests, appropriately named UCD-Guest. If you are visiting UC Davis for a short time and need a wireless connection, this is the network to use.

Note: Students, staff, and faculty with an active UC Davis computing account should use the Eduroam wireless network instead of UCD-Guest. If your device is configured for both Eduroam and the Guest wireless network, remove UCD-Guest to prevent connectivity and performance issues.
