Question

How do I connect to the eduroam wireless network from a Mac?

Answer

Note: It is recommended that you use the eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT) instead of manually configuring a connection.

  1. Click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar then select eduroam from the list of available networks..
  2. In the username field enter:
    • yourkerberosid@ucdavis.edu (CORRECT)
    • youremail@ucdavis.edu (INCORRECT)
  3. In the password field, enter your Kerberos Passphrase.
  4. On the Verify Certificate window that opens, choose Show Certificate.
  5. Make sure the certificate originates from eap.noc.ucdavis.edu.
  6. Make sure the box Always trust (at the top left), then click Continue.
  7. Certificate Trust Settings: Input your macOS username and password then click OK.

Problems?

If these settings do not work, turning off your airport card and turning it back on may reset the connection. If it does not you will need to remove the eduroam profile from your list of preferred wireless networks, then connect again. You may need to do this multiple times in order to reestablish your connection.
