I'm trying to use my Box.com account and I'm having difficulties uploading files via the web interface.

Overview

Box.com uses a Java applet to manage the web-based file transfer environment. If your Java version is out of data or disabled, you may encounter issues associated with viewing files, uploading/downloading files, or moving files between folders.

Answer

If you are having trouble uploading files or folders, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Try clearing your browser's cache. If this does not resolve your issue, please proceed to the next step.
  2. If you are using the Upload Folders (Bulk Upload) feature, you must have Java installed on your computer.
  3. Make sure you are uploading files smaller than the 5GB maximum.
  4. Within the Upload drop-down menu there are two options:
    • Upload files or Upload Folders - Try uploading with the Upload Files method instead of Upload Folders, or vice versa.
