How do I manually configure a connection to the eduroam wireless network on a Windows PC?

Note: It is recommended that you use the eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT) instead of manually configuring a connection.
Manually configuring an eduroam wireless connection on Windows:
- Access the Windows Control Panel - Type "control panel" in the taskbar search box and select Control Panel from the results.
- Open the Network and Sharing Center:
- For Category View: Select Network and Internet and then Network and Sharing Center.
- For Icon View: Network and Sharing Center.
- Click Set up a new connection or network under Change your networking settings.
- Select Manually connect to a wireless network and click Next.
- Enter the following information in the indicated fields:
- Network name: eduroam
- Security type: WPA2 Enterprise
- Encryption Type: AES
- Start this connection automatically: Checked
- Click Next.
- Click Change connection settings.
- In the window that appears, make sure the Connect automatically when this network is in range option is checked.
- Go to the Security tab and, under Choose a network authentication method, click Settings.
- On the Settings page, put a check next to Connect to these servers then, in the box below, enter eap.noc.ucdavis.edu.
- Click Configure under Select authentication method.
- Uncheck the option for Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any) and click OK.
- Click OK again.
- Click Advanced settings.
- Check the option for Specify authentication mode and choose User authentication.
- Click OK.
- Click OK and then Close.
- A prompt asking you to enter your login information may appear. Enter your credentials as follows:
- Username:
- yourkerberosid@ucdavis.edu (CORRECT)
- youremail@ucdavis.edu (INCORRECT)
- Password: Your Kerberos Passphrase
- Username:
- Click OK.
