Question

How do I log into CAS (Central Authentication Service)?

Overview

CAS, the Central Authentication Service used at UC Davis, provides a single sign-on experience. It gives users access to multiple applications, but requires a password to be entered only once.

When accessing an application, always go to the website intended for the application EX: canvas.ucdavis.edu, studentaccount.ucdavis.edu
Do not save a CAS log in screen as those sessions are limited and will cause issues in the future.

If you have left UC Davis, your computing account has closed. You cannot log into any CAS authenticated services.

Please see this page for what happens when you leave UC Davis as a student (Alumni) and this page for when you leave UC Davis in any other capacity (staff, faculty, temporary affiliates).

If you are a UC Davis Applicant and have forgotten your log in ID, please see this page: https://kb.ucdavis.edu/?id=2521

Answer

Use your Kerberos LoginID and Passphrase to log into CAS.

Beware of Phishing

Sometimes hackers create fake pages that look like the CAS portal page. They do this to try to acquire UC Davis credentials, such as usernames, passwords, and even credit card details. This is called phishing.

Please be mindful of the URL in your web browser when authenticating through the CAS portal page. Also, check for the lock icon to the left of the URL.

This is what the CAS login page looks like:
