Question

How do I setup my AppleMail for uConnect?

Overview

uConnect is the on-premise Exchange solution for email hosted by IET. For more information about the service, visit the uConnect service catalog page.

Answer

Note: The steps listed below are for recent macOS operating system (10.11.x+). The steps for previous versions of Apple Mail may be somewhat different.

  1. With Apple Mail open, click Mail in the top application navigation bar and then click Accounts
  2. Click Exchange and proceed to Step 4.
  3. If you do not already have an account configured open Mail. Enter your information in the fields and click Continue.
  4. Enter your account information.
    • Name: Enter your first and last name
    • Email Address: Enter your full UC Davis email address
    • Password: Kerberos Passphrase
  5. Click Sign In.
  6. The Auto Discover functionality may take anywhere from 30 seconds to as long as 15 minutes to complete
  7. Click Continue.
